Matko received his masters degree from the tennis department of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb. He is a licensed coach of the Croatian Tennis Association - B category. He works mostly with younger children aged between 8 and 12 and runs conditioning trainings for perspective young tennis players. In the course of his long working career in sports, he also became a distinguished coach of the bicycle academy and promoted sports and recreation in the outdoors.
